This week we met with Dr. Fabian and received some really great news. The current medications are working and working very well. The largest tumor in my left lung shrunk approx. 70% in just 3 weeks!! The tumor was 7 mm now it is only 2 mm. This is actually smaller than when I was first diagnosed back in September. The largest tumor in the right lung shrunk about 40%. It was 1 cm and is now 6 mm.
Casey and I were shocked to have such progress in such a short amount of time. We were very encouraged by the results. The doctor was "delighted". So, it appears that the unpleasant side effects are going to prove well worth it!! Knowing the medicines are working sure makes them easier to take!!
We'll go six more weeks on this current regimen before we test again. I have a feeling that will be a very important day for us!!
My heart test and blood test showed some changes that the doctor is watching very carefully. I'll be meeting with a cardiologist in October to see what he can do to counteract the negative effects the medicines are having on my heart. I'm sure he'll keep a good eye on things and make sure I don't have any lasting effects once I beat this once and for all!!
