Deb's Update October 10th

Hi all. Not much to report this week. I did have a checkup with the doctor, but no major tests. My blood test did show that my bilirubin number was still a bit high, but had not changed since the test two weeks ago. So, that was good. They have to keep a close eye on it so I don't get jaundiced. This is all caused by the toxicity of the drugs I am taking. We reduced my dosage a bit and that seems to have worked.

The rash on my scalp and forehead is pretty much resolved, knock on wood. The antibiotic we found and started taking seems to be doing the trick! Thank goodness!!

On October 22nd I will get the results of my next CT, PET and Heart scans. So, please keep me in your prayers for more good results!! I will also be meeting with a cardiologist that day to see what we can do to combat the negative effects the medicines are having on my heart. Luckily, I haven't experienced any side effects of this exact problem at all. Hopefully I never will!! That's what the good doctor is for!! I assume once my heart function decreases to a certain point I'll start taking medication, but we'll see what he has to say. They seem to make a medicine for everything. The miracle of medication!!

This month is breast cancer awareness month. For all you ladies... don't forget to get your yearly mammogram this month if you are due for one!!
