I had my CT scan on Monday and received good news for the end of 2009. The radiation appears to have worked and the largest tumor in my lungs has shrunk by more than half. It is currently stable as are the other very small spots that still remain.
Nothing new has shown up since these original spots appeared back in 2007. This is very good news!!
It is still our hope that these remaining spots are simply scare tissue and that they will eventually disappear. For now, we will continue the current regime of medications: Chemo pills, targeted therapy pills, and IV treatments every three weeks. Perhaps one day when a cure is found there will be something that works a little more permanently. But, for now, we will work with what we've got available. It is working, so I really can't complain!!
Best wishes to all of you for a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!
Love,
Deb
