Antigua 2010

Antigua was absolutely beautiful. Above is my favorite view from the beach. We stayed at Galley Bay Resort. Very nice! Very quiet! There are 100 rooms. About 1/4 are beachside and your door opens to the ocean! We had a suite and loved it! We had a great time and would have to say it was our favorite beach yet! The water was stunning. Temps were awesome. It was perfect.

Right next to our resort was Georgio Armani's house! He wasn't there, but it was very cool!
Me hanging out in the water!

We took many self portraits!

This was our suite (bottom left). Very nice!

All the trees and flowers were so colorful! This is the country's "state" tree.

Us on the day we were leaving!

Twice on rides through the country we saw a Seaboard Marine container. I took a quick picture on our way to the airport. For those who don't know... Seaboard is where I work. I was surprised when I looked up and saw the name on the side of the container.

BEAUTIFUL!

This is us with our tour guide Tony. He knew everything about the island, even though he grew up in Canada. He moved back to be close to family and loved it so he stayed.

We went ziplining!! I know, crazy! There were 8 ziplines. They kept getting longer and higher up. It was fun (considering I am afraid of heights). We never got stuck in the middle, thank goodness!

We took this Catamaran (sp?) around the island. We saw Antigua's 365 beaches. It got to be a bit bumpy out in the ocean. Okay, a lot bumpy! A few of us (me included) weren't sure if we were going to make it! This is the first time I experienced being sea sick!

The water was soooo very blue! And it was so "thin". Very different from Bahamas, Jamaica, Florida, and other beaches we've been too. When you got out you didn't feel all salty. Wonderful!

Famous shipyard. Lots of nice boats!

The Pillars of Hercules

Eric Claptons, HUGE, estate! He had his own cliff! The guest house was bigger than our house! Amazing!

Oprah Winfrey's house!

Us! This is our beach suite behind us!

Loved the sunset!

Our resort.
Our resort housed a bird sanctuary so we saw and heard lots of birds!

This is the view from the private dining huts. You got to sit alone watching the ocean. It was very romantic!!

Our plane from St. Maarten to Antigua!
We had a wonderful time! Definitely recommend it to anyone wanting a beautiful, relaxing, peaceful vacation. Galley Bay Resort. You'll have to check it out!
